Protection
Winning dominates here. The MS Series uses a softer, higher-density foam that absorbs impact consistently over thousands of rounds. Cleto Reyes offers excellent protection but with a firmer, more compact padding that compresses faster under repeated heavy bag use.
For high-volume sparring, Winning is the safer choice. For fighters who want to feel their punches land, Cleto Reyes delivers sharper feedback.
Build Quality & Durability
Both gloves are handcrafted — Winning in Japan, Cleto Reyes in Mexico. Winning edges out in pure longevity: the padding retains its shape longer and the leather wears more gracefully. Cleto Reyes leather is excellent but the padding compresses faster under heavy use.
Value
Cleto Reyes offers significantly better value. At roughly half the price of a Winning, you get 90% of the protection and a glove with genuine heritage. Winning justifies its price for professionals who train daily and prioritize hand health above all else.
Verdict
Choose Winning MS Series if you spar frequently, train at a high level, and consider hand protection a non-negotiable investment.
Choose Cleto Reyes Hook & Loop if you want a premium sparring glove with punch feedback, easier on/off (velcro), and a lower price point.
